In the furrow of tradition...

The history of the Barba family traces the long history.
The Barba family comes from afar, and carries with it the legacy of ancient traditions. The first traces date back to 15th century Naples, where we find our ancestor Francesco Barba, abbot and canon under Pope Sixtus IV. 

Over time, the Barba family moved towards Abruzzo, in the province of Teramo: this is confirmed by the registers of the 'catasto onciario' (land registry) which, by the middle of the 18th century, indicated Carlo Barba as the owner of many properties in Santa Margherita di Atri, in the plains of Casoli and Fontanelle. This is the beginning of our land ownership, of our history, to which subsequent generations
will make a decisive contribution.

...the trail of the future

Modernity was introduced at the end of the 1950s, when Luigi Barba, a Cavaliere del Lavoro (Knight of Labour), definitively ended with the sharecropping past and inaugurated the direct management of the company, equipping it with avant-garde facilities and infrastructures. Since the 1960s, the Barba family has
also been operating in other fields (production of bricks www.siailaterizi.it ), but has kept the land and agriculture as its core business, with the same tenacity, the same dedication, the same capacity for innovation that have accompanied it over the years, pushing it to project itself, one furrow after another, towards the future.
